I told myself that I was going to go to bed early. 9:00 tops. It’s almost eleven and I’m still up…. listening to music on the internet.
It’s winter, it’s cold, I spend more time inside hiding from the weather… but certain melodies make me forget how cold it is. And I need that. I love that. I love the summer music. It makes me feel like I’m in love. It makes me see lavendar. That sounds a little dramatic, I can admit. But it doesn’t change my stance.
So far tonight, I’ve been listening to Bon Iver, Grizzly Bear, and Corinne Bailey Rae. I needed them tonight.
Sometimes music can be like books. You can overhear other people’s stories, and to a certain degree, live through them, and experience different realities for yourself. And that’s what I’ve been doing, and I’m not tired yet.
